August/3/2006 HILLMAN AND HOWITT ON THE ROAD

Candidates were on the campaign trail in the 100 degree heat. Candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Reed Hillman (R) and Candidate for State Representative 4th Bristol County, Steven Howitt (R) met up in the towns of Seekonk and Rehoboth to greet their constituents.

Hillman has set out to visit every city and town in the Commonwealth before election day. Howitt is going door to door in Bristol County, and was in the towns of Seekonk and Rehoboth that morning. He joined up with Hillman to introduce him throughout the towns. The candidates stopped in the Country Kitchen on Rt. 44 in Seekonk, the Seekonk Town Hall and Rehoboth Town Hall to meet with staff and administration, and made a visit to the Rehoboth Council in Aging.

" I want to thank Reed Hillman for noting the importance of the 4th Bristol County, by making a stop here. We need our voice to be heard on Beacon Hill,” Howitt noted.
“One of the most gratifying things about running for State Rep is meeting the people I hope to serve," said Howitt. "My family has been in this area for over 100 years, and my father served as a Selectman in the Town of Seekonk for several terms. It's amazing to me that people still remember him and share stories about him with me as I go door to door. I’m so glad to welcomed by the people as I’m door-knocking, hearing what’s important to them, and learning about the issues affecting them. I really believe that together we can do a lot of good. Being a Rep is all about serving the public, and you’ve got to get out and get to know them, no matter how hot it is!” he laughed.

Reed Hillman served as Superintendent of the State Police, responsible for over 2,600 law enforcement and support personnel. He is running for the position of Lieutenant Governor with Kerry Healey (R) current Lt. Gov, who is running for Governorof the Commonwealth.. Steven Howitt is a third-generation Seekonk resident, business owner and candidate for State Representative 4th Bristol District.
